Caregivers work under supervision and are not permitted to perform medical treatments or procedures.

🌿 Specialized diploma in elderly & end-of-life care

Duration: 6 Months | Onsite & Online | Advanced Diploma Program

Work is supervised by licensed mental health professionals. Mental health assistants do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, or provide psychotherapy.

4 Months | Onsite & Online | Diploma Program
Class Days: Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays

Overview:

This program prepares students to work in medical laboratories, supporting lab scientists and technicians in hospitals, diagnostic centers, and research facilities. Training covers specimen collection, basic lab procedures, equipment handling, and infection control practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and label blood, urine, and other specimens
  • Prepare samples for testing
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Assist with basic diagnostic procedures
  • Ensure proper storage and disposal of samples
  • Follow safety and infection control protocols

Scope:

Work is supervised by licensed laboratory scientists. Laboratory assistants do not perform diagnostic interpretations or advanced testing procedures.

5 Weeks | Onsite | Certificate Program
Class Days: Monday – Friday

Overview:
This program trains students in blood collection techniques and lab procedures for use in hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic labs. It emphasizes safety, specimen handling, and patient care.

Overview:
This program trains students to respond to medical emergencies with CPR and basic first aid skills for both adults and children.

Key Skills:

  • CPR for adults, children, and infants

    For the Geriatric and Palliative Care program, applicants must have a previous healthcare background.

MDCN Preparatory Program

  • For foreign-trained doctors only preparing for the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) licensing exams

Certificate in First Aid/CPR

  • Open to all applicants — no prior healthcare background required

General Application Information

  • Attendance Requirement: Minimum 80% attendance to qualify for final exams and graduation

Internship

  • Mandatory for all Diploma & Certificate students

  • To be completed at MedScholar partner hospitals or an approved facility
