Programme Overview

Caregivers play an important role in supporting individuals who need assistance with daily activities, personal care, mobility and companionship.

This 4-month diploma programme combines classroom learning with supervised practical experience, helping students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required to provide safe, respectful and compassionate non-medical care.

Students learn to promote dignity, independence and quality of life while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for the people they support.

Programme Structure

The 4-month programme combines classroom learning, a supervised practical internship and final assessment.

Weeks 1–5

Classroom & Coursework

Five weeks of structured instruction covering foundational caregiving knowledge, personal care, daily living support, communication, safety and basic health monitoring.

Week 6

Transition Break

A one-week break between classroom training and the supervised internship.

Weeks 7–16

Internship & Practical Training

Ten weeks of supervised practical experience where students apply their caregiving knowledge and develop hands-on skills in a real care environment.

Week 17

Final Examination

Final examination and programme assessment.

Scope of Practice

Caregivers provide non-medical care and work under appropriate supervision.

Their role focuses on personal care, daily living assistance, companionship, basic health support and other appropriate caregiving responsibilities.

Caregivers do not perform medical treatments or clinical procedures.

Practical Training

Ten Weeks of Supervised Practical Experience

The programme includes a 10-week supervised internship and practical training component designed to give students real-world caregiving experience.

During the internship, students have the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge and develop practical skills while supporting individuals in an appropriate care environment.

The practical component helps students build confidence in providing compassionate, safe and respectful non-medical care.
